The Final Proof

Atlast Odysseus is able to great his darling Penelope. When he goes to tell her of his true identity he tests her in only a way Odysseus would know. You see before he went away on his great journey Odysseus made a bed from an olive tree growing through his bed room. When he reached Pemelope she said that the bed has been moved, but he knew that could not be so. Proving to her that he knew her trick that she was trying to pull on him she knew he was truly Odysseus because you cant move a bed grown into the ground. After all of his adventures, losses and terrors, Odysseus is finally back at home with his wife. Maybe he will be smart and not leave her again. Farewell from up above, always yours.....Kalika and Coralia

Suitors No More

Oh that Odysseus, what a show off. Although we watched very much entertained by his success with such a great amount of suitors. One by one he took them down. I am sure the power was given by his anger that so many were disloyal to him and they were trying to steal his wife and home. He planned on fighting only with his own limbs yet Telemachus thought better of the situation and retrieved the basic fighting tools for his father. What also helped him was the power of the great goddess Athena. But even if she did not intervene, he probably would have triumphed the same. Once the suitors noticed that the goddess was working in their opponent's favor, they slowly gave up and accepted their fate. It was completely obvious that the beggar was in fact Odysseus in disguise.

Now that Odysseus has won his final battle, he prepares himself to greet his wife Penelope whom he has been away from for so many years.

The Test Of The Bow

At last Odysseus has arrived back home, yet unable to be with his wife Penelope whom he has been unable to see throughout his entire journey. When he arrives Penelope has finally given in to her suitors and has devised a near impossible contest. Each suitor must string Odysseus' bow and shoot arrows through twelve consecutive axe-helves. None of the "worthy" contestants are able to succeed, most not even able to string the bow. Meanwhile Odysseus, who has appeared as a beggar, meets up with Eumaeus, his loyal cowherd, and plots to seek revenge against those who have overrun his house while he was away. Hopefully everything will fall into place, and he well win back his dear loyal wife.

Obstacles of the sea

Odysseus' journey is not over yet. All the different dooms of the sea are going to continue one after the other with no mercy and no end. As we watched Odysseus and the crew, we noticed that they were unusually prepared for the challenges they were facing. For the sirens, they had beeswax to plug their ears and the crew tied Odysseus to the boat. They must have had help from the gods. Although he was foolish not to tell the men about Scylla. She plucked them off the ship one by one exactly like the Cyclops did to us. Thr biggest problems began when the crew did not listen to Odysseus' and Circe's warnings of the island of Thrinacia, the island of the sun God Helios. They feasted on the cattle there, without a second thought. For their actions they must figure out a way to payback Helios, so he continues to shine. Just when we thought they were learning how to manage without us, they make yet another foolish mistake. For once though it was not the fault of Odysseus.

Circe's Wrath

Our dear friend Eurylochus, how we miss the one intelligent man on the ship, tried to warn Odysseus of the dangers of Circe. Of course he did not listen. We don't understand why the Gods are helping him, because he does not deserve it. Being sent to an uncertain fate, the men who were punished to the island were transformed into pigs by Circe's dark magic. We are surprised that when Odysseus found out that he did not immediantely cook up his men, so we applaud him for that. Instead he sought out the help of Hermes and was made immune to her potions. Not forgetting of himselef though, when Odysseus reached Circe's, he was unfaithful to Penelope. Once his men were turned back into their original state, they remained on the island for a year. After a reminder from the crew. Odysseus set off to Persephone and the land of the dead.

Watching Odysseus

After our untimely ingestion, we wanted to watch and see what Odysseus would do next. With our new friend Komodia we set out to find a good view. While we were watching we wondered how we ever agreed to be crew members of this buffoon. Although he used his wit to blind and intoxicate the monster, he still had to figure out how to escape his wrath. With the clever use of his sheep, he found a way out of the darkness. Odysseus then returns to his normal self and taunts Polphemus endangering our old friends. Narrowly escaping joining us, he and the remaining crew journey on.

Adventures with the Cyclops

After we finally left the island of Calypso, Odysseus thought is would be "fun" to visit the Land of the Cyclopes. Little did we know what an adventure it would turn out to be. We were some of the few chosen from the crew to tag along. When we reached the cave of the Cyclops we were starving and began to herd the sheep. Odysseus stopped us and dragged us into the cave. Everything was going well until the inhabitant named Polyphemus returned from his daily chores. All of us froze at the sight of such a massive creature. In a blink of his eye, he chose us as his first victims. Now we had one more reason to spite Odysseus because it is his fault that now we are watching his foolishness with Komodia, Goddess of Happiness and Amusement.

The Beginning

We are starting off slowly, because Calypso has fallen in love with Odysseus. We are nearing seven years now on her island. We are all starting to get anxious, and want to continue on our journey. If the start of our journey reflects what is to come, maybe we should build our own ship and sail back to Troy within the week.
